Looks like an old Schneider tractor.
The driver was cited for not wearing proper footwear also.
He learned a few lessons today.
Odin's Rabid Dog, Bud A., Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Lucky he's alive...and not sited for improperly secured load
Odin's Rabid Dog and Lepton1 Thank this. -
Did it have a headache rack?
-
Looks like I'm seeing the lower angle supports of an aluminum headache rack that was there. I'd have to think if that is the case, his life was certainly spared because of just enough of "lucky deflection" caused by the headache rack.
Why anybody would flatbed without a headache rack is beyond my ability to understand.Last edited: Jul 6, 2018
Lepton1 and Trucking in Tennessee Thank this. -
If the driver doesn't retire after that I bet he will most certainly get a headache rack. Luck will only save you so many times.

Another one who needs to buy a lottery ticket.mjd4277 Thanks this.

More than likely the tractor was from Schneider’s van division so a headache rack wasn’t probably added until later,if it had one. Driver is lucky to be alive.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Load wasn't belly wrapped either..that's a no no on pipe loads..
Txdriver77, IluvCATS, Bud A. and 1 other person Thank this. -
Belly strapping that kind of load will save you a lot more often than luck. I see guys hauling drilling pipe without any straps around them all the time, though, so I guess luck is winning the popularity contest.
