I make probably 6-7k a month after taxes nowadays. My monthly expenses are around 1900. That means about 4100-5100 a month goes into a 401k, IRA or the bank. And there it stays. How you save money on the road is to not spend it. If you don’t spend it, you’ll still have it. It’s not rocket surgery.

Peanut butter, bread and water. Maybe a can of tuna now and then. Peanut butter is actually a staple food. For example, they use it over in parts of Africa suffering from starvation.

I always leave the house with a couple gallons of good artesian water.
I'LL fill my 32oz cup with ice and water from the soda machine when i fuel.
Then drink another cup or 2 during the day.

    Really?
Heck if you ate two meals a day in the restaurant ( 7 days) with a decent tip its about 140.00
Now add in a few snacks.

I can cook 3 sit down meals for less than 1 at a truck stop. And its not only a healthier meal, but taste better. Typical restaurant food has no flavor.

I spend less than $10 a day on food...and im a fatty. The trick (in cost savings, not getting fat) is to prepare your own meals with Walmart groceries.

Whether you prepare your own meals or eat out on the road, it should not be killer. I don't eat two meals daily. I will probably eat one good meal. I hardly ever buy snacks but if I do, it's 50 cents peanuts

Great plan. No wife is required. Find a partner that likes to work.

Actually if truck drivers would wise up and stop working for peanuts it wouldn't matter what they spent each day. Look at the parking lot of the company you drive for. Most of the managers rigs are at least $50,000 unless they have a clunker they drive to look poor. Trucking companies are generating more gross revenue today than ever before due to the 'driver shortage' and destructive regulations that they have spent the last 10 years pushing. There's no driver shortage. There's a decent driver pay shortage. Stop working for table scraps.
