The $500 is a refresher course, for me I havent driven in 7 months, so if I go there thats the cost...Tried everyone else.
1pissedoffdriver Thanks this. -
I don't uselly agree with 1POD but this time I do. You would be better off working for wally word then paying someone to work for them.
-
Considering your situation, this isn't a bad opportunity. Take it and make the best of it for at least a year or so. Don't do the lease though.
-
It is sad, when they start you out below .30cpm no more mileage what there is out there right now and the living expenses on the road man you almost be better off doing something else.
Although I did hear TMC or Maverick are hiring if you're into flatbedding,I heard they do pay decent. -
It's an awful time to get into trucking. I agree with Pharmphail. take the job, just don't expect to make any money. England and those other training companies pretty much pay burger flipper wages, but you have to start somewhere.
I still get a chuckle when I see these CDL mills advertising on tv, saying after just 4 weeks of training you'll make $45,000 your first year. Yeah, right. If only. -
Be ready to team if you go as a company driver for cre

Go ahead with CR. you cant do a #### thing from the outside. Get in drive, be safe, get miles, money, experience and make changes once your in. You'll find quickly that with a year plus of driving you become more sought after. And 3 years safe driving with all endorsements ....your GOLDEN!!! I say go with it. A year goes by soo fast especially getting paid every Monday. (something about weekly pay makes time fly)
See you at a TA soon -
I started with CRE. I went in pretty blind, jumped in with both feet. I did'nt know anything about anything trucking related. I went to their school, worked with their trainer, drove with another student (I know pretty dumb), somehow learned to drive (somewhat), became a trainer myself, stayed there too long after I finally started to learn what was going on (I'm loyal to a fault). My advise is, if CRE is the "only" one out there who will give you the experience, go get it. DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT (drama for effect) listen to their lease program crap. Stay there for a year, the economy will turn around, and leave for a good company. Above all else be safe and protect yourself, because they won't.

You have to start somewhere. And by the time you have finished being chewed up by CRE and can get out of there, Comrade Obama will have everything in America fixed for you and the sun will stay out. Then you can go anywhere you want, to any company... if the guv'mint ain't telling you where to work and what you can make yet.
