Brand new 389/579/567? Those are a lot heavier due to emissions garbage. Older 379's are super light.Oldironfan Thanks this.
-
Yes, the 579 is mostly garbage.
They can look good though.
Oldironfan Thanks this. -
you can get 389 and 579 as glider kits.

My W9 is a ‘99. We have a ‘97 379, a ‘01 379 short hood, and an ‘07 379 that are all heavier. We also have a ‘01 W9 with a studio sleeper that outweighs mine by about 2500 lbs.
I can tare weigh right around 29,000 with a ‘14 Heil 3-hopper pneumatic if I’m low enough on fuel. Have a 3100 watt generator and 8000 BTU air conditioner, two side boxes full of tools, and of course the PTO/blower and misc hoses and fittings.
N14, 13 speed, tall 24’s.Zeviander and Oldironfan Thank this. -
I'm 28,100 with light fuel..
-
Thats nice weight.
Puts to rest the "W9's are too heavy".. -
With that Aluma-Tech on? That’s a dang good tare weight.
On the W9’s, my experience is that the Aerocabs like mine are much lighter than the Studios. Wouldn’t think it’d be as much difference as it is.Tall Mike Thanks this. -
579 seems like trash to me. Not even 4 years old and the key locks don't lime to work. That says something right there. To many electric problems also.
Try looking up High Pressure Transport.
Fold_Moiler Thanks this. -
