always wanted to live in ks or mo... but when you guys talk like that, i could change my mind LOL
-
lol its usually not that bad here, few years ago they got a whole 6 inches of snow for the winter

I agree completely. Problem is this sort of thing has been happening waaaay too much lately. It's gotten to the point that I call the consignee as soon as I get the load offer just to make sure that everything has been covered. It's almost like dispatch is using us to detect problems so they don't have to.evertruckerr and emtepockets Thank this.

That is actually pretty common and I have learned to take advantage of it. I normally stay out 4 weeks. Lets say I have been out less than three and haven't been getting any miles. I'll put in for home time for as soon as I can get there. Next load offer tends to be pretty good and heading in the wrong direction but I'll take it anyways and call my terminal and cancel the home time. I have gotten some great loads using that technique.

yea its kinda like they wanna pawn off the footwork on the driver and make it seem like you got the brokers authority lol wishful thinking again lol they dont care they still get paid for it wether you got the right info or not as long as the load is on one of the companies wagons is all they care bout seems like.

I couldn't agree with you more, but I try to look at it from a positive point of view. It wasn't my fault, the receivers of the DC I was at or dispatches. It happened somewhere else in the process and we were the ones left trying to straighten it out and I was very happy with the way it was handled once the problem was identified. I just wish these problems would be pointed out to management so that they can figure out why they happened in the first place and make some effort into preventing the same thing from happening in the future.luvtheroad Thanks this.

I tried that very thing. Miles have been just terrible so I said to myself. "Why not put in for home time in Phoenix, that should get me out of the NE at least as they try to get me that way. Since then I have been to NC, back to MD and am now on a 280mi run into the heart of Phili for an 08:30 appointment delivery tomorrow to the Mint. Traffic shouldn't be a problem at that time of day. All I have to do is time it out so I'm not early (not allowed). That will be a little tricky.
At least they can't send me any further East unless they put me on a boat, but then there is still plenty of North left, isn't there.
I Google Mapped the place, I think this is the door I have to go into.

hmmm sure looks like a fort knoz lock down situation to me lol. and yes you do have a valid point with the load. the outcome was favorable.
