The name doesn't sound firmiliar but there are a few ladies that work in there. I don't spend a lot of time in there. I only stay long enough to get my next load.

Ask what you want to know. Are you already going with Werner or just looking? If you are looking, here's my advice for what it's worth. Do your homework on any carrier that you are looking at. Don't be afraid to ask questions. I can assure you they won't be the least bit shy asking and finding out all about you, so don't you be either. If you don't understand what you're being told or don't like what you hear. Ask for clearification or discussion. No one will shoot you for asking and there is no such thing as a dumb question. Be sure you ask about the financial state of the company, are they profitable. VERY important in this ecomomy. You want to know about SALARY, BENEFITS, hometime, training, and anything else you can think of. Do NOT sign anything without reading it completely, if there is something you don't understand or don't agree to, make sure everything is clear. This is going to be your career and your livihood, don't jump into anything you don't feel good about. When you do start, be as professional as you can be and learn all you can. Best of luck and let all of us know how you're doing.

OTOH, anything you tell yourself about your power to "interview the company for your services" in this climate, is a complete lie. Assume a lot of it will suck and take any offer you can get. Decide while things are improving if you are going to reward or dismiss them when things are better.

Thanks for the info. Yes this economy is bad. very bad and i dont believe it's goig to get better for a long time. But thats a diff sub. haha I was pre approved with Werner. Just bit worried i guess. Big change. dont want to be stuck in crack hotles waiting on a trainer or if my trainer is dedicated then when he goes home i'll be.....yep hotel. I know a lot of people say that they dont give them a truck right away. I do know they are buying new ones. just have to wait. i dont mind that part. I looked up their stats says they are pretty much debt free. hard to believe but hey. Not that my crap doesnt stink but i dont want to be trapped with mr.nasty either. Hope their clean....man...oh well if not just wait for a new trainer if they let me..sure they would or else have my mom and gf come pick me up..hahahaha. I've wanted to do this since i was a little kid. my grandfather did it my cousin my 4 great uncles...my turn. sure is diff then it was in the 40's 50's ect....anyway. great site here and sorry for the extremely long post.

You can believe that they are probably pretty much debt free since they have been paying dividends to their stockholders for I can't remember how many quarters for several years now. They have remained profitable during this economy but becoming diverse in their operations. Look at the website for a brief scenerio of what they do to remain profitable.
I like your idea of having someone pick you up if you really hate it. Give it a chance before you ride off into the sunset. LOL Also, if you do resign, be a professional about how you do it. And check your DAC before you apply anywhere else. It's always good to see what your former employer has to say about you. You know that thing about being forwarned... Good luck and be safe in your travels with them. :biggrin_25525:
