That is by far the hardest part of doing this, not being able to see your girlfriend/wife/loved ones everyday. Just do your year & get yourself a local gig & get back to living a real life.

You never get passed missing the ones you love. Wayne has been gone for a month now and will be home tomorrow night. The kids and i can't wait! :biggrin_25515:

As for wanting a old truck...BLAH!!...Wayne was broke down more then he was on the road with a truck that had over 650,000 miles on it. After being down 2 weeks almost in one month, they finally told him to bring it to SLC and trade it in. It was costing too much to repair it once a week i guess. Thats when he was told he could go team with his trainer so he never got another truck, just jumped in with his trainer. He has really learned a lot out there with his trainer and is very calm about driving now. He is doing good and actually is liking it. Good luck everyone and keep your heads up.

Even new trucks break down!! Luckily its under warranty still.

I think OTR gets in your Blood, I went for a quick trip with John on Sunday night delivered at Winco DC in Woodburn OR and picked up another load at Clackamas OR Fred Myer Load going back here, three drops this morning and we are back home, so John can get his medical Card renewed, and get the truck all set up for students.

Its good that Wayne is liking it now:yes2557:

I really miss travelling with John and don't like staying home but with work I have no choice :biggrin_2553: for a while anyway.

If you got a girl back home waiting for you like I do, then you will be ready to head home the day after you head back out from your home time.

Thats my biggest regret, being away from her so much & not being there when she really needed me... But at the same time I'm glad I did it. I never would have seen all the places I have been to if I haden't done this.

I'm sure he will be happy to see you as well.

650,000! They get sent back to Volvo at 400,000 miles or 4 years. What in the world was that thing still doing in the fleet?

Every truck has a few kinks to work out at first, thats why the good lord gave us warrantys.

I love OTR, Its really awsome to be in a new place everyday meeting new people. However nothing can beat sleeping in a real bed every night & being able to live your life with your loved ones & not just talk about eachothers days over the phone.

(I'm sure this has been asked, but I'm to lazy to look) Why don't you get a CDL & team?

Hello! I am right there with ya! Mine will be finished with the training on the 28th. It hasn't been easy for me at all. We have been married 20 yrs and it still isn't easy. I thought at first I wouldn't miss him so much cause we have been together so long. But I do! :biggrin_2553: As I have said I have 8 kids 7 that still live at home. And it's not easy at all!! But we have to do what we have to do for them.

It has been close to 2 months now and I can function without crying now. :biggrin_25525:

Hey everyone..And brickman i do i have an amazing woman back home that is more then a man could ever even imagine or ask for. for one example i didnt have to pack a stick she was doing laundry and packing all my clothes for me when i was prepairing to come down here. I miss her so much right now but I know to give her the things she wants and to provide for her the right way i have to do this for at least a year. Possibly longer. But hopefully i can get a regional job after that time comes to pass.

Looking forward to when you come down and are home for a day or two and if we can hook up while your down here.

That option has been discussed and might be a possibility in the future, and she can make more money staying at home.

We are also in the process of selling the house so someone needs to stay home in case it sells.

She does drive around around in her car with her Australian License which is another thing she needs to take care of and that's getting her American License.
