I go with my husband sometimes. I am also a stay at home mom so we live on that truck driver salary. Really it depends on ur finances. We dont own our home we rent. We dont have the fanciest cars. But we dont starve either. We have clothes ect. As far as the need to contribute thats between u and ur hubs. If he feels that you should contribute then you should talk about it. If he doesnt mind then go ahead. Also talk with him about going otr with him in the first place. Are you able to hold ur #1 and #2? This is very important bc hubs cant always stop like the luxury of ur house. You have to learn there is not alot of space in the truck also.

Being out on the road together can truly be special. I found it very helpful to have her there. She was the secretary of sorts. Able to help with qualcomm notices. Allowing me to concentrate on the driving. Also it helped to have an extra set of eyes when finding an address.

Hey cameron, the op put that thread out 5 years ago. She probably lasted 2 months on the truck and is now home watching the soaps.

went with my husband a few times on short hauls in the past, and it didn't seem so bad.Just got home last night after 8 nights in the truck and a day to get home.we also have a dog we take with us .my husband flat beds so a few times I helped him because I needed the exercise ,although we take our dog for walks when she needs to go potty and when we get a break. But wow my knees and butt hurt.Married 22 years and bieng in such closed quarters together was getting to me,and having to get out of the truck looking like crap in the morning to go in the truck stop to go to the bathroom.Im hoping I can get used to,it.

Wife and I did it 17 years. No kids, no pooch, it was the most rewarding experience of our lives. She passed away. If you love someone you will know in the first 3 months.
