My RoadPro cooler broke down. I accidentally got my finger caught in the fan and ever since the fan stopped working. So I bought one of those Coleman coolers at Wal-Mart (Fits perfectly in the Century Class Freights). But it freezes everything I put in it. I have a gallon of milk in there right now thats frozen solid. I bought a bunch of glass cokes and sprites (often found at AL fuel stops), all frozen solid. Anyone have this same problem? I know they work off of ambient air, but I keep the truck around 65-75 usaully. I was thinkin of puting duck tape over the grilles on the front and just poke some holes in it. Maybe it'a slow it down.

Where do you put your cooler? It should only cool down to about 40F below ambient temp.

Do you have it in front of an AC vent?

Putting some duct tape in front of the cooler vents should work.

    Good Luck.

The old ones did that, but the newer ones I have had are not worth a flip....

I have one and what I did in my own truck was to wire in a cig lighter outlet in the back with a dash mounted switch to turn it on and off.

I remember being startled in my sleep one night when a can of soda blew in it and blew the cover open.

duck tape worked. had to use quite a bit actually. 2 long strips covering the vent vertically top to bottom, and I left about a half inch slit between the 2 pieces (I didn't poke any holes in it). cools down quessing 25 degrees F now. CopperTop, I put the cooler underneath the table area on the Century Class. It sqeezes in there nice and almost sits flush when fully pushed in.

    I'm glad the tape worked.

I quit using the coleman type cooler because it never seemed to get cool enough. I use a regular ice chest now. It sits in the passenger seat footwell. I put in a valve and removalbe pipe so I could drain the water without having to move the cooler.
