Just bought a 359 and have a couple of questions. I was thinking of installing the Leak Defender fuel caps but wanted to make sure the non-vented caps will work properly. I see that the drivers tank has a rubber vent line running down the frame from the top center of the tank but the passenger side simply has a plug where the vent line should be. Does both tanks need to be vented or is just sufficient to allow level equalization.

Both tanks need a vent to level out properly
-
I HATE MY TANKS! THEY ALWAYS NEED FUEL! THEY SHOW EVERY SPEC OF DIRT AND ROAD GRIME! THEY ONLY NEED REFUELLING WHEN IT IS 110 DEGREES OR - 30! THEY ONLY NEED REFILLING WHEN WE ARE THREE DEEP AT THE FUEL ISLAND!
I feel much better now that I've vented about my tanks!!! Thank you for this opportunity.TGUNKEL, magoo68, Roberts450 and 5 others Thank this. -
Thanks. Does it matter how long the vent lines are?
-
No the length of the hose doesn't matter. If they're Peterbilt tanks it takes a special vent that screws into the tank, they're available aftermarket a lot cheaper. Just do a google search for Peterbilt fuel tank vents and you should be able to find them.
Redrammer99 Thanks this. -
