A relative bought FedEx stock when the price of fuel dropped during the past few months. I thought that was naive because high fuel prices were offset by the fuel surcharge. I explained what the drop in volume would do to profit margin and stock price. I explained the attacks on FedEx's independent contractor system. Fed Ex will make it through this tough economy without a doubt. At what cost to their employees is the only thing in question. They seem to be going the way of other giant corporations unfortunately. By that I mean they feel that people are expendable. As a result of that their quality of service and reputation will be tarnished. Take care of your people and your people will take care of your customers.
