Are there any Australian truckers on the board?

Just got back from dragging quads from Mt Isa to Cloncurry in busted ##se KW 950's that break down all the time, terrible pay and bad living conditions. Its not all its cracked up to be, I can make more $$$$ running solo Perth - Melbourne - Perth still have 2 days at home a week and run legal. One day I'll tell you how I caught some camels to pull me out of a sandy bog on the Gun Barrel highway ( I've got photo's to prove it )

 

I run Perth - Melb - Perth solo one trip per week 3 weeks per month, I run my own ABN sub contracting my time and alleged expertise, grossing $2500/trip, works out to be approx 39 cents per km. Drop off the 20% tax its still good dollars for sitting there watching movies. Oh also dock to dock never touch freight, no drops or pick up's, truck's always run clean skins, change one donut every eclipse. My new " work diary" is faultless because of the system I use. Times always match up with km's traveled and it has been checked both in SA and Vic a few times. I run hard, never late and touch wood no work diary infringements yet. As for owning my own truck I thought about it for all of 1 nanosecond, wrote all the good points on a flies eye with a crowbar, woke up in sweat and realized that it was only a bad dream.

Havent even attempted.. had to get back in after i sold the star.. child support set a minimum earn, so that screwed me.. but im just waiting to see if i have a path into the us.. if the option im looking at currently peters out, i will likley look at a flat top possibly b-double and play with that till i work out how to move over..

 

Yep The kids are the biggest draw back about going away well they are for me
