PaulE,i was running the fleetgaurd and the baldwins, whenin to cat for overhead put "higher flow" filter head on 256-8753, saying is bogus that cat filter wont flow enough for application, my restriction is 4-5 all day long?

Bigswede,.256-8753 is 10 micron 320 gph. this fits Cats spec. 320 gph is WAY overkill especially when its on a filter head that flows only flows 120 gph. its not the flow your trying to improve its the restriction of the 10 micron. your restriction of 4-5 in imo is too much especially if its an acert. fleetguard FS 1212 is 20 micron(less restriction) 20 mic is largest mic i have found in spin on filter. next step is Davco 382 or FASS system. leave Cat secondary alone. run FS 1212 for F/W seperator. many complain about inconsistent perf with Baldwin. i run only Cat or Fleetguard. you may have to change filter head if you have 90 gph on it now. .. what is part # of your current F/W filter ?

reread your post, if you have 256-8753 on now. FS 1212 will fit that head.

read another post saying .5- .7 mpg improvement by changing to FS 1212. MAYBE if its an Acert and it had 90 gph head with 10 mic 160 gph filter that factory put on. you MIGHT get .1-.2 mpg but i doubt it. this just one minor thing that helps throttle response and makes it easier to control power with your foot. if you have an acert you know their like a light switch on or off. Acerts run like a very restricted engine. you need a lot of pedal for them to do anything. give them the fuel and air easily and open exhaust up so they can breathe. they become a different engine.
