why are CA rest stops so disgusting?

    i think i stopped at 3 rest areas along i-5 and every single one was an unheated, stinky, graffitied, sticky mess.

    nice sheet aluminum mirrors, though!

    Most of Texas' rest areas are the same way. I try to avoid both of 'em if at all possible.

    I personally find Nevada to be the worst. Along I80 some of them don't even have running water. And I've never found one to have soap.

    Course California doesn't always have soap either. Some of their rest areas have this powder stuff that is like washing your hands with Comet.

    This is why I carry a travel size bottle with me in my purse! The last time I relied on those places to have soap, I ended up with the skin on my hands being so dry it was cracking!
