1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Any leads at all appreciated

I have 20 years OTR experience (off and on). I worked locally for the past 7 years. The company closed and there are no jobs here (driving anything). I have contacted several companies and have been told everything from "hiring freeze" to "we are only hiring students". We to Atlanta for Werner orientation and saw many, many guys waiting around for trucks and loads. I just need to work. Any advice/leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Guitarman .....Sent you a PM ...

I still think you can make as much running under your own authority or leasing to a Landstar as you can driving for a company + you have much more freedom. It just takes a little more effort and patience finding frieght. I guess driving for a company is a little more reliable on the miles.

If you have your own authority, try contacting C & L Transportation, Inc. out of Cornelius, NC. I don't know if I can include a phone number in here or not, but they have a web site. Ask for Danny or Becky. They might be able to help you. I don't know them personally, but my daughter gave me their name because the company she works for will only deal with them (and "ACE") when it comes to finding drivers.

I'd be happy to share any info I can find on the load boards, too.
