My biggest gripe is this indeed. If you met me you would see that i do not fit that ''reputation'' of a truck driver.Actually i look like a cop...lol,lol

I come from a very clean cut irish/italian family with alot of clealiness.I am by far not a big, smelly, nasty, fat trucker crapping in his truck...lmao..

But that is my compitition.I can not compete with this.At one time i could, but not no more...

There are just to many ''drivers'' setting up residency in a ''truck''..It worse now then it ever was before. So they can run very cheap. They work for an all you can eat buffet and fuel money...lmao

REMEMBER,JUST BECAUSE YOU OWN A TRUCK, IT DOES NOT MAKE YOU A BUSINESS MAN....

THE ONE WHO SUFFERS THE MOST IN THIS BUSINESS TODAY IS THE ''FAMILY MAN''

NOT THE LONELY,SMELLY DIRT BAG THAT HAS NOTHING AND WANTS NOTHING BUT A TRUCK PAYMENT AND A WHOPPER...LMAO

    Gweko and DoubleDear Thank this.

    Remember this:
Freight rates do not care whether it is an old truck or new truck that pulls the trailer...it all pays the same.
The only reason O/O's like myself must purchase a new rig is to become compliant with CARB's silly a-z-zed regs.

Not sure we understand each other well enough...but let it be your way. Just...have to remind you that they these days do not build the trucks (and almost nothing else any more) the way they used to 20 years or so ago and that you might during the period of 5-10 years after your warranty has expired spend the half of the value or more of a new truck in order to keep your old one in some basic running condition. I could give you many more reasons why I think it is better and much cheaper spending your own money instead the one you are buying from a financer. If you can exactly when you need it, of course!
But, I will not argue if thats your preference. Mine is to try to be debt free if anyhow I can.

Agree on what you say. Glad to hear you're not one of the peebottle- throwers like neither am I.:biggrin_25525: So, do just Rey Ban sunglasses make you look like a cop or...? ;-)
I know what youre saying , it happens to me all the time...when people ask me and I tell them what i do they often say...c'mon, you are kidding us...you don't look like a truck driver. :)
    BTW...I am Croatian.

if you spend 50% of the value of your rig in maintenance in the 5 years after it's paid off. then that's 50% of the value of your rig that went into your pocket instead of to the bank. and that's not including interest.
