I popped a couple of holes in a plastic air line cutting off a bolt and I need to replace about 2 foot of that line. Is there a way to make a splice in that line. I think it is 1/4" brake or air bag line. Any help would be appreciated.

You can buy a union in the size you need.

I've clamped off the line with vice grips until I could replace it. Just to keep air pressure up

When you get a chance replace the entire coil plastic colored crap with proper rubber lines. You will find that a few extra feet of them at each glad hand comes in handy come winter.

Carry a spare when you get this all sorted that way you have it on hand.

Is there a special crimping tool I need to install that?

No special tools needed. They are push-locks and are easy to change.

Ask for a 1/4” union quick connect and that should be what they give ya.

Maybe not any auto parts store. Napa usually has a selection of them. Ask for DOT airline fittings. A place like FleetPride or TruckPro would be your best bet. Another option would be a truck stop or any local garage that works on trucks, they should be able to help you out. Never a bad idea to carry a few of various sizes to get you out of a pinch.
