IQ tests measure your ability to learn. Don't make the mistake of confusing IQ with ability.
I'd rather have a driver with an average IQ and a good attitude than have a genius level driver that doesn't care about doing a good job.
We have guys working here that never finished high school and there are a couple that can barely read and write. I don't know what their IQ is and I don't care. They're good employees and thats all that matters.

You know I have met both drivers and owners who could not do a pre-trip, and some could not even find the dipstick let alone know how to read the oil level. Between a frind of mine and I, I can't remember how many times we have helped people with trucks that don't start because the oil level was too low.

One member here (on the forum at large), who I won't mention, didn't turn his truck off for 4 weeks because he could not get it started back up because the low oil sensor tried to protect the engine by preventing it from starting, he got it started some how. It didn't dawn on him until someone asked if he checked the oil which he said he didn't in four months. There was no oil on the dip stick, hardly any in the pan and I think that truck went to the scrap yard quickly.

We had trucks with those cable release hood latches that were broken. Yet somehow, even though they were broken for over a month, drivers said they pretripped them every day. I knew the trick to opening them, but very few go to the trouble to do more than crank it and wait for 15 mins then leave.

An IQ test, or similar tests, only test your ability to take tests.
