    Well that explains it.

They’d rather tie up my moving storage facility for free than pay extra storage cost.

    Fair enough.

It seems all this could have been avoided if the agent had just told you why he did not want it delivered early.

But that would be "need to know" information and agents can't have drivers that know too much.......

Yep. That's why when I book loads I make sure they pay me my daily rate for however long I'm going to be under the load.

If it was $2 Million worth of freight and storage at the airport was that big of deal to where he didn’t want it delivered early and pay for an extra day, it may have be worth while to mention that to you before tendering the load. While the storage cost may be high, I’m guessing that agent would rather have that eat into his commission versus all or part of a claim on that freight. I’m guessing he’ll get over it and be calling you again when he needs someone trustworthy to move the load.

Seems if it was that big of a deal, he would have mentioned it, and told you why. Surely, if he’s been in this business very long at all, he knows a good trucker will want to deliver as early as possible. We are always led to believe that delivering ASAP looks good to both the shipper and the receiver. And usually the broker.

    Eff Um!!!!

This falls under the can’t please them all of the time. I get that you delivered outside the agreement window but they are not any help when something gets delayed a day. You said you went this long without them..... so who cares?

Sounds like you were being conscientious about seeking safe parking for their high dollar freight when THEY suggested to unload it earlier? If it was that big of a deal then he should have disclosed that.

RStewart, blairandgretchen and Oxbow Thank this.
