so eaton fuller uses the same gearbox that they have used forever now just with addition of more electronics that do not interfere with gearbox so it is very hard to mess with it as far as driver goes cuz the shifts are always done on time that being said it still a power loss and really old technology making the driving not very comfortable, but if everything goes right as far as gearbox goes in my opinion eaton fuller is supperior to the ishift, on the other hand if you consider the comfort fuel savings hill assist and all things included ishift if much better, it may well be a stronger box as well but it hasn't been around long enough to prove itself in U.S. for as long as it has been around it is far more superior than the eaton fuller trans and far more comfortable and better all around, so i believe being that they only offer it in volvo it can't take over the market but if they offered it in everything it would have taken over the market already as you know FRL also came out with its own trans in the DT12 more comfortable than eaton fuller autoshift as well. So little by little they are getting pushed out of the market they filed a lawsuit a few years back to get ZF out of the market as well ZF had the freedom line far more superior trans but eaton filed a patent infrigement on the two pedal design and ZF got out of the market all together. Personal opinion is that ishift is going to take over in volvos there is no reason anymore with the drivers nowdays to have a manual gearbox auto seems to be the way to go and all around i believe it's superior to anything out in the market right now. Does it have problems yes but they all have problems all need clutches shifter and ETC. the only down side is that there is very few people besides the dealer that can actually work on an ishift.

After watching the video I understand what you're saying about the difference between the two. I knew Volvo had made some changes but hadn't researched them until now. I will be test driving one when the new trucks hit the dealership lots, I'm interested to see how the driving experience has changed with the new engine and transmission. Last model of that transmission I drove was in a 2012 Mack that I traded in on my current Kenworth with the Eaton autoshift. I definitely liked the Volvo transmission better.

No it’s not covered 45 days out of warranty. Bolts loosen up and fell out of forks and it ruined the main box and I’m stuck paying for the repair I would stay away from this transmission Volvo won’t stand up behind it either give me 1500 to help fix A slap in the face

What year is your truck and what is your torque from your motor? The D13 with 1750ftlb has 7 years and mine with aD16 2050 ft lbs is up to 350K mi

It is 500 horsepower it is only covered for three years 250000 miles are you sure yours is still covered. It was three years and 45 days old and out of warranty bolts came loose in forks and fell down in gear box and ruined the box. Volvo covered 1500 dollars of the 11000 dollar repair

You better check your warranty papers! As far as I know you should have 7 years and 750k mi. Ok let me make sure. You do have an Ishift right? Not an Eaton
