Greetings from the uk! glad i found this place, full of "horsepower heads" .
Anyway, the problem i have is there seems to water/oil gettin in the air system at the compressor. not a problem i thinks ,untill i try and order a gasket set and valves for it. The gasket i suspect is failing is not available, according to cat, that gasket only comes with a new assembled compressor. what a load of s????t.
U guys had anything like that ?

You should be able to get parts for your compressor at a heavy duty parts shop. Somewhere that sells bendix parts and that since I don't think the compressors are actually made by cat anyways
-
Yep i thought that too, been phoning around all day. on the parts peoples computers it only shows 2 of the 3 gaskets.
It's got 3 lots of part numbers on it, made by bendix in france for knorr bremse with a cat badge on it, why is nothin simple and straight forward! -
Which gasket is it that you need? You should be able to buy like a head gasket kit for it
-
Its the middle one of them i cant get. the headgasket is on the bottom then a "sandwich plate"then a gasket. then the top bit on top. the sandwich plate splits in 2 with another gasket in between, i believe it contains a water gallery.
-
Dont think thats a bendix compressor as they dont have a sandwich plate, the cat compressors have the sandwich plate though, what is you serial number? I have never seen anything other than a bendix on a C12 but never say never...
-
Could also get a sheet of gasket material, and "make" one, just get the correct thickness, and make sure it's compatible with the liquids it will be exposed to.
-
Easyer to take pics than explain.Still no sense out of anybody so may have to make one but it's more like a head gasket than a gasket, apparentley.

Thats a Bendix compressor... Think it might be a 595 or 594 their called forget. Got a few trucks with them on it. Those are good compressors, pump fast. We have had trouble with the head gasket on them a couple times
-
I stand corrected, it is a bendix with a sandwich plate, the head gasket part number is 175-3171, and the head kit number is 187-1483 it contains valves, gasket, reed valves, etc. there is also an unload kit avalible 187-1481 containing unloader pistons, springs, gasket, etc. These are the only parts I can find availble through cat system.
If it is putting oil into the air tanks it is unlikely a gasket is the cause of the problem, usually the only way oil can get to the air system is past the piston rings in the compressor.
