All the above listed could or could not be done all the same day . You may have to make a couple trips (worth it)....
Class : pass or fail
You have to get a 75 on the final to keep employement . It's not hard take good notes ... Don't party and study each night .. If they repeat it in class write it down
Very important take good readable notes .,..
They do fail people I had 2 in my class of 8 fail but they didn't take good notes etc
Not a scare just preparing you if you apply your self you will be fine
I got a 98 on final
Wysrob got a 96
So it's very doable
Congrats again on the first step to joining the team superior

"tanker training" is mostly just learning how to load/unload properly and safely. Also getting used to driving with the surge and realizing your load moves (when it doesn't move that is when you have major problem because it is probably frozen). You also have to drive differant, move stopping distance, alot slower on curves etc etc.
If you go to one of the major chemical tanker companies such as superior, qc, dana/suttles, schneider, enterprise, etc, hazmat as well as a TWIC card is going to be needed. We (i am leased to one of the above named companies) all haul for the same shippers and if I am going to need hazmat/twic you will also, so be prepared to get those if you don't already have them. -
Thanks for info guys. I'm road testing in Karns City on Fri. I was a volunteer firefighter for 21 yrs and I'm hoping all the hazmat training I had will still be fresh in my head. I agree to the best way to pass a series of tests is not to party at that time-need all the brain cells you can get
Otherwise I will make all the trips I need to make to get this done right. Success is earned- not given and I have always wanted to get into a specialty in trucking without killing myself. I have a hazmat on license but no twic card. Does the company help you get it or should I go apply for it now and if so where do you apply? Will keep you updated on my progress. I'm really looking foward to this.

This is just my opinion, but if you have less then a year driving I would not do tankers. Wait until you have a year or so under your belt first. Dragging a smooth bore tanker around is a whole differant world then a van or reefer. One the positive side, once you do make the change you will not want to go back to the square trailers. (shprs/rcvs treat you like a human most of the time for one thing). -
The twic is a govt thing (another money grab in my humble opinion, but that is a rant for another threat). just use you favorit search engine and you should be able to find the website with the info. I don't know it right now or I would give it to you. I invloves a background check, finger prints, photos. Depending on how long you have had your haz-mat end you might be able to save some money on the background check. (I renewed my lic first then got my twic so they used the same background check). -

Superior will pay for your TWIC after you get on and are approved, trained, pass final exam .
No need to get it till your here already if u want to u can but save the 105 / 132 $$$. My opinion
Best wishes -
Be prepared. Karns City is one hell of a place to get in and out of. Narrow 2 lane roads and some pretty steep hills. Should be no problem for someone with your experience. The first time I went there I had 45,000 lbs and was dropping the tank on the yard to grab another to get home. The directions in the Driver handbook bring you down a curvy 1.5 mile 10-12% grade. Scared the piss out of me. I found out later all the drivers go one exit farther N on I 80 and come in through this little town to avoid it when loaded. -
Before going chemical tank...

Is the Superior terminal in Memphis not hiring anymore? Just called and was told there is no openings.
