That is one thing that annoys the heck out of me. People driving down the street with only their windows cleared, and mounds of snow on the hood, top, and trunk of their car. Take the extra minute and clean the whole thing off!

We'll see if the cops actually do it. they are also supposed to stop and ticket cell phone violators, i have never seen a cop actually pull someone over for having the phone glued to their head while driving.

when the state starts payin for my paintjobs that result from all the ice scratching my paint during clearing, then i'll clear it, till then... lets go back to a tried and true method of driving ..its called SAFE FOLLOWING DISTANCE!!!! if you know the vehicle in front of you is giong to have something come off, BACK OFF treat em like a dumper full of gravel that have those cute lil signs no one ever reads "STAY BACK 100FT, NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR OBJECTS FALLING OFF TRUCK" lol

I have seen a cop car that had snow piled higher than the lights.

    Practice what they preach.

Besides, who is going to climb on 4x4 to reach the roof?

OH and like the police in D.C. don't have enuff to worry about

I don't want to start an argument here, so for the faint and lazy... It seems clear that we are again trying to legislate, common scene, when it comes to general safety of the motoring pubic. I feel that by simply placing a disclaimer on the back gate of a dump truck it does not relieve the driver of the responsibilities of a simple walk around to clean the gravel off the lip and or brush off other areas that it collects while the front loader is loading him. But hey that's just me, and yep a safe following distance will most likely prevent any loose material rom damaging your vehiechle. On the other hand if the dump gate is not closed or misfitted then it is the drivers and companies fault. This is defective equiptment. Snow is a little diffrent, it does not generaly cause any harm to life or property. But common scene would dictat that it is removed from the vehiechle so the driver has an unobstructed view both front and rear. If you are worried about your paint job, then you should have a cover/ car port, garage to park in so your paint is out of the elements. Then you don't have to clear the snow, because it is not there to start with. Now Tractor trailers, that an all togather different story... Why? Well I need a ladder to get up there, a brom, shovel, a safety harness, and ome where t atach the safety harness... OH how we love OSHA.. Thank you for solving our snow removal problem. Oh and the roof of the trailer will not support my weight, 'cuz how many 60 to 70 pond truck drivers have you seen... Dollars and cents prevails here.. But hey they will still try to get it done... The true bottom line is we all need to be a bit more responsible for our selves and keep the government out of our stuff. I know I used a dirty word so have me banned, that "r" word :biggrin_2551: Lets all wake up and smell the coffee, or deisel, or what ever it is you like to smell before it's too late...
