2 years ago I quit the company-sponsored training after 10 months of driving, meaning I became responsible for the cost of tuition. What are my chances of getting accepted into another company-sponsored training program with Prime Inc., Knight or Swift?
Should I...Can I go thru another company-sponsored??

Did you pay back the money?
-
-
Do you still have your CDL, or did you let it expire?
-
Probably not then. Why would you need to go through training again? After 10 months I'm sure you had a cdl. They dont expire in two years. I'd find a better company that offers a refresher. No sense going back to the same garbage companyCJ701 and Myblackout2014 Thank this.

What changed that you think it will work out this time?

you might be able to, when you pay off the loan, then too, you already high tailed it outta there, this may shy away some hiring companies, that you left someone else, holding the bag.
meaning in a way, irresponsible behavior....
not to mention 9 out of 10 times, you signed on with a company that is a member of DAC, and you most likely have been blackballed by that company.CJ701 Thanks this. -
Thanks Nickst. I absolutely agree with you. I'm actually saving up to get back into trucking. It's just that my patience wears thin in this 9 to 5 life. I know already know I WOULD NOT do a company-sponsored program even if given the chance because I know the work would come with no freedom & tons of frustrations. I'd rather pay my way.CJ701 Thanks this.

your patience is going to be even thinner, dealing with the roads, and the 4 wheelers, and the loading docks, and the lack of parking in truck stops, etc,etc.bryan21384 and 06driver Thank this.

You probably don't have to go through company sponsored training again if you still have a cdl.Try some companies that hire drivers with a long gap in driving. You don't need the full cdl program again, just a refresher.
Keep in mind, companies these days are bending their rules about any experience required, so if you see a company you like, just apply and don't worry about what may be on their website.
Abilene Motor Express is a good start. They'll give you a refresher with an experienced driver, then cut you loose as a solo.
Freymiller is an excellent refrigerated outfit and might hire you. Fill out their short app.on the website and see what happens.
Here's some more. Do the online apps then follow with a phone call and say, "I'm checking on my job application.
