Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat...
Then, repeat again. At first, I thought my CDL school was crazy for having us do it so many times, but it works. Eventually, you'll be able to do it in your sleep. I did it on my personal pick-up and stayed after school so I could be one with truck.

You follow that appendix step by step, word for word, and you'll pass. We ve had 3 guys do that and they passed easily, no prior experience. Where are you running into such difficulty with it?
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
I did that too, I had my mom stand outside with the cheat sheet and she acted as the inspector and graded me.

I've found this study guide to be helpful: https://cdn.truckingtruth.com/pre-trip-inspection/pre-trip-inspection-guide.pdf

Not running into difficulty with it, just looking for strategies others have used. At my CDL school, they say if you can ace this part off the bat, you get more drive time practice, that's all. The trainer I'm driving with OTR pretty much only lets me handle straight freeway driving, anything more complicated than leaving the rest area he handles.

Yeah, Michigan used to have something like this. My OTR trainer looked at the current "cheat sheet" and said, "That is totally worthless, you're screwed unless you start memorizing, boy."
