I am interested in doing the exact opposite.... I want to put the new style ISX, a 2010, in to my 2006 9900i International. It came with the 2006 model ISX engine. I was told it would plug up to my existing wiring, but I would have to change just a few things like the manifold and maybe the oil cooler. And of course the ECM. Any thoughts or opinions on doing this? Thanks!

If you don’t have an isx already I got a rebuilt isx 871 (2009) model I’m selling for 16k. 50,000 on the rebuild.

Good luck. I know there’s a place in Oregon that makes all sorts of wire harness mods. Can’t recall their name

The ecm is completely different and so is the head. 2010 only has one cam in it so if you tried to put your ecm on it and run it the truck would not start or run. It would require a bit of work to do that and retain the original ecm to run it such as a head swap and then at that point it would need to be looked at if you would need a piston swap as well.. It would also take a lot of work to rewire it from that ecm pinout to the new one and not to mention a recalibration on the ecm so that it does not try to find the aftertreatment that isn't there. In that case it may not be worth the effort to try it. I know we have done 07 to 2010 and 2013 and the rewire took a lot of time.

    Cordell72 Thanks this.

Thanks for this info. I had discussed it with a couple of Mechanics here and they had not mentioned the fact of the single cam. That is something I had not thought of. I was about to make a mistake for sure! Thank you!
