I always suggest that teams train separately.. either different schools, or different timeframes. Especially male/female team members. I have seen way too many men place the women instantly into the "second seat" role no matter how much better the woman driver is.. Its also better to have two heads with different ideas. What one team member doesn't know, the other possibly could know.

I have been really excited about going trucking with my hubby. To spend the first few weeks in a truck with someone else during that "honeymoon period" would be really sad. One trainer, training both of them together, would keep that excitement and joy. We can both benefit from that trainer's experience. That's why I like the LTL idea, because you can both be home daily, and share the joy, while still benefiting from separate trainers. Not only that, but you might get more than one trainer each... a few different trainers during that period would give you a wide range of wisdom. Not to mention, hearing stories like that one "I've boffed ppl's wives" just makes me, as a woman, too intimidated to go into a truck with a male driver. Sexual harassment is a real thing, and I don't want to feel pressured into tolerating a man being a letch just to get through training.

Oh please lol . I’ve never had to hit on females it was always the other way around . I don’t think most men are interested in you for sex no offense . If you aren’t adult enough to get through it , trucking isn’t for you . No LTL is going to train two rookies at the same time and if you log in with an OTR carrier good luck on three in one truck being a pleasant experience . The honeymoon and joy words make me lol tho . It’s a grind . No joy , no honeymoon

There are or at least was a couple companies that did take 2 out at a time. If my memory serves me correctly maybe CRST and CR England, there could be more. I do know I trained DOZENS though who started with those two and hated it and quit for a variety of reasons. Personally, I would never spend a month or more in a truck with 2 other people. It would be too much for me, but if ya'll are willing and can find a company/trainer then go for it. And if not you both will be safe and ok if you go out for a month apart, if some trainer is a freak at the first truck stop call and report them and get off the truck and move onto the next one. Sometimes to personalities just clash, it happens I just always made it work and I treated my students well. There are a lot of good trainers out there and unfortunately, there are a lot of bad ones and ones who have zero business be a trainer. I know several companies allow you to be a trainer with 6-12 mo experience, that's is asinine.MBAngel Thanks this.
