see I was diagnosed when my now wife, a nurse, recognized I likely had a serious life threatening problem , easily treated in various ways. after a proper in lab study monitored by am experienced sleep tech to maintain proper study protocols, it was determined I have severe obstructive sleep apnea when my results were read by a qualified physician trained in this specialty area. a follow up study done using cpap determined the treatment for me is cpap. during this second in lab study , it was determined what effective pressire setting would allow my to breathe comfortably while asleep. others with less severe symptoms might "cure" their condition through surgery, or using an oral appliance that helps keep the throat from closing.

from the very start, with some getting used to the mask, I began to sleep soundly, woke rested, and wasnt sore anymore after the end of the first week of use.

from the start of my time with sni to now almost 2years removed, I have contended that the methods used by examiners are inadequate and target the heavy using arbitrary secondary possible contributors to the codition. that take home studies arent the proper testing protocol. that the feds shoukd get off their ### and have definitive standards, which would include complete company funding of all testing and supplies through insurance.

Well, Rat, one of my best friends got hooked up to one of those things in the early 90's and it changed his life. So I'm not disputing the value or effectiveness of the device, I'm disputing the Nazi approach Schneider has to these things. Read Tenmann's thing.....it's a pretty corrupt system if you asked me. The same folks that diagnos you are the same folks that sell you the device. And what is Schneiders cut.....you know there has to be one.

So the OP is denial about having OSA. Too bad. It can be, depending on severity, a very dangerous condition to have without treatment. I encourage her not to run, but face it on. It just might save your life.
