Thanks for the info. Houston should be a place to find a good job, and i'm sure those jobs that are worth having are around. But I know the good ones aren't easy to find. Plus there are too many drivers here, period. And too many of those are willing to work cheap and tolerate bad treatment from shippers and racks. Everywhere expects drivers to give two hours free on both pickups and deliveries. I don't give away my time anymore. I don't babysit trucks, either. Then there are the local tanker jobs here. Have fun with those in the Houston traffic, day in and day.out. most of the local jobs pay by the load and for good reason. I'll get paid by the hour to do it or it sits in the shippers' tanks. So, NO, houston isn't that great.
