    Yes, it is actually law. It is considered smoking in the workplace. However, most officers look the other way, as they smoke their own cigarette.....

    that is the stupidest thing i have every heard!! you can smoke in a car but not in a truck by your self!! i do runs 3 or 4 times a week to so cal. i never have to many problem, take the traffic in stride, as im paid by the hour, but dont think im going to quit smoking because of a stuipd law like that!!! :biggrin_25512:

    My step-dad used to tell us to "go play on the freeway"....we never listened to him.....maybe some kids did and now they're getting some of that "second hand smoke"......:biggrin_25526:

    Kalifornia is a prime example of a nanny state. The government lives the lives of their "citizens" for them. They are not allowed to make their own choices, whether it be at home or in the workplace, unless it consists of debauchery and such. Those acts are tolerated as "diverse". I remember as a teenager, I was working on my car and we had a visitor from California (I was born there, but moved to Idaho when I was 11, thank God) and we were talking about muscle cars. I was absolutely floored when he told me they couldn't even put a chrome air cleaner on their cars. This was early 1980's. Unbelievable. It's pretty sad when it's virtually against the law to defend yourself from criminals. So, I'm not surprised that, these days, their whackjob "government" would beat down retailers for selling washer fluid.
