    A McDonalds franchise would be both cheaper and more profitable.

    ha, ha, how much experience do you have under your belt?

    You have to know the market. What's moving and what's not, to determine what type of trailer to run.

    A Good Well to Do Trucking Company running under their own Authority first goes out and gets customers!. You need to know what the going rates are. What type of products and so forth.
    Whether you decide to become a freight broker or a company, you've got to find Your own Customers, to ship their freight.
    I'd like to know how you plan on running a trucking company.

    Hows the reefer business running from Cali to the east coast?Maybe run reefer.If you can't get a frozen load you can still haul general freight in the same trailer.Just a thought.

    What type of experiance do you have?? Have you ever pulled a reefer?

    Have you ever done high, wide, and heavy?? There are a lot of people who don't know a thing about bidding and the problems associated with moving O/D loads around the country.. Dealing with permits, escorts, pole cars, route surveys, and insurance....

    The best pay?? I've herd hauling the high level radioactive waste pays excellent.. Drawback.. your equipment can get contaminated and you gotta scrap it.. :)~

    Were it me, my first 3 steps would be;

    1. Move out of Kaliphornia.

    2. Wait for the economy to improve

    3. Buy a reefer

    Just my opinion
