Hello, I am still waiting for my class date with C1 training in Springfield MO. Anyone know anything about this school? My question is about paperwork. I have studied for the CDl until my eyes bug out, lol. I have looked into the company I'm going to work for USA until my eyes bug out, lol. I would like to know if thier is a site or if thier is something on here that i can study all the paper work that has to do with being a driver? And if I should be studing or looking at anything else to get ahead of the game? I have at least another week to 10 days to sit here and read, so please if anyone knows what i should be reading let me know.Thank you in advance, Fiore

Ignore the peanut gallery. If you have indeed made up your mind and done your due dilligence then you are fine. Everywhere you go will find some chuckle head with a gripe. Secondly, stop studying. It really isn't as hard as some try to make it out to be. A visit to any truckstop will aquaint you with the biggest band of morons the world has ever seen. Somehow these same morons manage to keep the wheels of commerce moving. Go to C-1 do as they tell you(They are just there to get you your CDL). Don't debate them just do as they wish. Go to USA and again just do as they wish. Figure you have one year being a model employee. You may end up doing well...you may end up taking it up the tail pipe. Either way use your time wisely. Keep your ears and eyes open as you may find YOUR dream job driving down the road next to you.

That's right . Ignore the peanut gallery . Ignore the financial news about thousands of trucking companies closing and all major carriers reducing the size of their fleets . The morons at the truckstops are only there temporarily to be replaced by more morons in a month or two because the carriers hiring now have a turnover rate of over 100% . The turnover average is now around 80% but the better carriers have an average of around 40% . Getting into trucking now is not using your time wisely .

Thats it.Ignore statistics.Ignore the facts of the ''new'' trucking.Ignore all the people that spent and invested thousands of dollars to these ''driver mills'' to end up making .25 cents a mile and a trip to the credit bureu.

Ignore that you will be ''ousted'' out for whatever reason so the company has a ''seat'' to replace you with another 8,000 (student). So they can continue there corrupt ''legal'' scam and benifit more money for the ''trainees''..Ignore that there is thousands of truckers with exp. out of work and there are no jobs.Ignore the ''peanut gallery'' and walk right into the biggest scam going on right now as we speak in trucking.

Go in there and ''take one for the team''...Ignore every ''red flag'' and become a super trucker for bring home pay of 400.00(if lucky) and work 24/7 to get that small chump change.Ignore your ''fantasy'' of ''i will work local'' in a year when i have some exp. under my belt.Truth is there is no local work and if so its 8.00 an hour.Candy coat all of it and become a ''trucker for life''...lol,lol

TRUTHFULLY YOU NEED TO INVEST YOUR MONEY ELSE WHERE.Trucking is not a great investment.

So you would recomend he do what? Get in with the auto makers? Find a nice comfy job in the burgeoning casino industry? Get real man, the guy needs to get the ball moving putting his time in building experinece so he is qualified to get one of the better deals. Waiting doesn't do anything but get a man deeper in the whole.

FYI turnover has been around a 100% since I started in this industry and I don't see t going down anytime soon.

Wow someone needs a hug huh? So you are one of those that see a big scary conspiracy being run by the big companies? They all really wish that drivers would only stay a month or two so they can keep up the churn? If it is such a fantastic money maker then why did Schnieder just hop off this profitable turn table? I know they knew you were on to them. The fear for their mortal soul that you the pissed of one would shine the bright light of truth upon them...what a joke.

Thousands of companies go under every year but we still complain that there is a lack of parking? Could it be these thousands of companies tend to be one and two trucks outfits that reopen under a new name the next day? All these failed companies and yet prices on used trucks haven't plummeted due to the saturation of the market?

I stand by my peanut gallery comment.

real (actual) numbers for new drivers....

8,000 for (school of blind)...once done with school

    .25 cents a mile x 2,000 miles a week for 7 days = 500.00(if lucky)

    100.00 (food expence)

    500.00 - 22%(taxes) = 390.00

    390.00 - 100(food)= 290.00 grand total

    290 / 7 days = 41.42 per day....

Big money here for a driver...lmfao

That's real encouraging -telling a guy to get in an industry with a staedy turnover of over 100% . With tens of thousands of experienced drivers out of work there are no decent jobs available for newbies . The bottom feeder companies are always hiring because newbie drivers are always quitting when they don't get enough miles to survive . Paying for a driving school to get a job with less than $300 a week take home is what puts people in the hole .

But sir you don't understand man.I am 50 years old and i live in my 79 year old mom's basement with my jimi hendrix posters.I need the truck for room and board too,not just being a ''trucker''..

I will change all that and become the best i can be and i will become the ''real'' super trucker...

Miles and money don't matter to me,what matters is the ''free'' room and board and for the 1st time in 50 years i can leave home.

.Well i am an ex-meth head and i aint got nothing to show for a life so 300.00 is great and i can have room and board and snack on all the lot lizzards.
