This is the road Navigo told me to take recently instead of staying on IA-136.

If you got the ticket don't it say how much you owe ? Other wise how will you know how much to put down on the check you write? If the infringement is less than $100 I know it sucks however its still cheaper to just pay the fine it you are guilty of driving on non designated route. Rand Mc Nelly map books usually have all roads listed in each state that big rigs can't drive on. If you want to escalate it and take it to court best get the camera out and start taking pictures and hire a very good lawyer again its going to really cost you a few bucks. more than what the fine is worth, so the sheriff and the police know what their doing when they write these tickets out they've really got you over a barrel.

The few times I found myself on a no truck road it was because the stupid signage was placed where it would be seen only after I had made the turn and too late to turn back. We need those signs on perpendicular roads with an arrow pointing in the direction of the no truck route so we have time to abort mission. In daylight hours I can usually see it down the road, but at night I cannot.

When that happened, I'd hit my 4-ways pull off to the side of the road and check google satellite for a possible way of turning around. But in the end I always ended up just driving through... fortunately without incident so far.

If I got pulled over I would try to explain that to the officer. I noticed the sign only after it was too late to turn around.

It takes a few days for it to get in the system or some crap. And yeah they know #### well that nobody's going to take a week off of work to try and get to another state to go to court for $150 ticket. It's a real money maker for them. Especially when it is in a city ordinance that is not listed in the restricted routes in the atlas. There are a lot of towns like that in Illinois for example that do not have their restrictions listed in the trucker Atlas, you have to download their list of restrictions as you go through their freaking town! As you probably know the southside of Chicago is notorious for passing out tickets where there is no posted sign in saying the route is restricted. They let you know when they write the ticket and good luck with trying to get it thrown out of court. It'll never happen. In this case, the sign showing a restricted route was way the hell down the road and you can only see it when you're halfway down the stupid road! They're setting you up for failure. but mostly what I was wanting to know, if anyone had ever gotten a citation in this particular town and how much was it. I won't be emine to get ticket amount glor a couple days.

My TRUCK GPS tries to send me down pig paths all the time.
    Residential streets, etc.

It does this because it's NOT a no truck route, so it thinks it's OK.

    Common sense must prevail.

The signage dilemma, as in this case in this thread... is B.S.

I see it all the time.
It should be on the street that you're turning OFF of. Not 300ft down the street that it's prohibited.

    TravR1 Thanks this.
