Our company is getting rid of our 2016-2017 Cascadias for new 2019 Cascadias through Penske Leasing. Notwithstanding the numerous other things that Chrsyler really blew with the interior redesign, does anyone know if the truck is wired for XM Satellite radio, because the factory head unit doesn't have XM capability, or even a CD player. I can get a new head unit identical to this one with CD player and/or XM radio, but if the antenna pigtail isn't back there, it would be useless. Why didn't Chrysler go all the way and save another .43 cents per unit by deleting the 1/8" input jack as well? No XM or CD player is UNHEARD OF in 2018.
2019 Cascadia XM Radio?

If it is prewired the antenna on a double bunk condo is very top toward the back and on the right side.

I use the XM app. Since I have a radio ID I get all the same crap on the app as the radio.

I should have clarified better. It has an antenna, since it has a working AM/FM stereo, plus the TV coax cable, and all CB wiring already in place. I specifically was wondering if the Sirius XM antenna pigtail is already behind the OEM head unit in the dash. I understand it is separate from the AM/FM pigtail.

The XM radio will need it’s own special antenna apart from all the rest (cb, am, fm. Etc) and it may or may not already be installed in the truck from the factory. But they don’t usually provide the antenna unless it was ordered with a satellite radio.

Didn't have good luck with the magnetic antenna that came with a (free from Sirius) Onyx outboard XM receiver. The phone app hasn't been much better, it locks up if cell service is lost, as it is often, since no one covers 100% of rural America. Looks like I'll be cancelling XM. Really disappointed in the 2019 truck, so many stupid "improvements," from a floor mounted cupholder to trip over, no more quick step steering wheel tilt/telescope, no shelf anywhere near the head end of the bunk, and God help anyone trying to sleep up top with no A/C vent up there. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

I have to point out Chrysler does not have a thing to do with Freightliner.
drdesl, Socal Xpress and Nukem Thank this. -
Are you saying there is no auxiliary jack in the radio on the new truck to plug your XM radio into?
-
Removing the stupid floor mounted cup holder was the first thing I did.
Either the truck has a factory Xm antenna or it doesn’t. If not, use 3M grey industrial 2-sided tape and affix the puck antenna to the top of the driver side mirror and do the best you can to route the small coax down and in through door and to an xm receiver then use auxiliary cable to auxiliary input of truck radio.
