Have around 200 bucks and looking to buy a good loud cb w/ a whip antenna. I frequent the flying j and pilot alot, so one from there would be good. Not worried about the law or the fcc(they can kiss my ###). Just want something loud! Thanks

I don't know how much you will get for $200 but if I were you trying to spend around that I would;
A-I'd get a Galaxy 959, if that is too much try the Galaxy 949 (959 $199 est.) (949 $150 est.)
B-Get you a Wilson 5000W antenna. ( $50-60 est.)
Get it all set up then have a QUALIFIED technician set your SWRs not some guy in a shack behind the TS.
To have anything that the FCC would want to mess with you for you would have to have something like a 10 meter radio and you will not get a radio and antenna like that for $200.
You'll need a lil more cash for that.loudhornsrule Thanks this. -
coonass, thanks for the reply> Do those cb's have upper and lower channels? Thanks
-
The Galaxy 959 board is a hybrid of the EPT690010Z board used in the latest Galaxy and RCI 10-meter radios. They are 11 meter radios out of the box but can be easily modded to expand the channel capability.

Thanks for the info

I've got a galaxy 33hml from a few years ago, had it tuned up and it now pushes about 40 watts on low and aprox. 60 on high, with a wilson 5000 wip. Looking for a power booster so I can talk to Cali. from Va (LOL). where can I find them and approx. $$$$ thanks D.Y.

In the right conditions it would not take much.
look up xforce amps and grab you a connex 3300 or something like it.
rolling radios can get you the hook up. for about 1k you would have what you are looking for but again....conditions are what matters most. -
Roger that Paulie, I'll give them a shot..Thanx D.Y

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T USE AN X FORCE!!! They work well, but are very dirty class C amps and bleed all over everybody, usually ten channels out! I got rid of mine for that very reason: it ticks off EVERYONE! They have a sister company too, but I can't remember the name. Texas Stars are a cleaner C class and very affordable. Get a "sweet 16" (16 finals) and you'll be very glad you did.
