I had a ser of cups done at 500k and at 532k the replacement cups failed. But my truck did come with copper cups originally. .

I've had 4 sets of injectors and cups on this D-13, 340,000 miles. So I've heard it, believe me.KB3MMX, Dave_in_AZ and Socal Xpress Thank this.

The D16 of today is not the same that had all those problems of years ago. Oh and by the way my buddy has a 2017 with a d13 had to have his done at 102KKB3MMX and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

When I researched the maintenance records on, I dunno 1,000s, of Volvos with D13s, the cups may last 72 hours from brand new, maybe 720,000 miles, but one thing they ALL had in common, is that they will fail. I'd say at least 50% before 300K miles.

Bruckners in Dallas told me that they put a set in a truck and took it for a test drive and had to do them again, these reman injectors are junk.KB3MMX and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

Forgive my ignorance, but what happens when the cups fail? What would I look for or would expect to see if they fail or begin to fail?

A vibration or shudder usually under load, hard to start, sometimes you have to prime. Sometimes fuel in the oil although that's more injectors and O-rings.

But it can also be that you get fuel in coolant. -
No doubt, I've had all of the above so was referring to my experiences.

Friend off mine with aD13, two times he had cups fail.
With him it was both times fuel in coolant.
First time he didn't know the sign's and drove on.
Every rubber piece in the coolant system ,so that is hoses and o rings,had to be replaced.
If Volvo had not done it under warranty, we are talking more then 10 000$.
