what does a pump truck operator for a wireline/completions co do?

If you're talking about a vac truck on a wireline/coil job then you basically do whatever the company man(rep) needs you to do which is mostly bringing freshwater from a frac pit or station to location and filling the few tanks that the wireline/coil/clean out/completions crew are using and/or taking away fluids that cant be recirculated or will damage the downhole tools. Usually there are only 2 or 3 trucks on standby if the downhole fluids can successfully be recirculated in situ, if not, then 1 or 2 trucks will be taking away waste fluids and 1 or 2 trucks will be retrieving fresh water. You'll definitely get hours.

You will be pumping high-pressure fluids downhole for pressure testing, kills, and other downhole work. You will have to "lay iron" - carrying heavy iron pipes from/to your truck, setting them in place/picking them up, and connecting/disconnecting them with hammer unions. You might also have to mix the fluids before you pump them. You will probably not have a helper but you may have other drivers bringing you water, and there will almost always be other people on location that you will work with.
