    The name on the title is the one who pays property taxes, if there is any on vehicles in that county/state. Smart way to do it, open separate title holding llc in the state where is not such bs taxes and title equipment under that llc, than lease the truck from that llc.

    I don't have a title to jack, and when I do in a couple years it will be worth scrap iron. lucky me!

    Back in 2005 or around there, I received a letter from I believe Kentucky stating I owed a property tax to them on the equipment I owned which was plated and located in Michigan. They wanted around $1000 or there about. I rarely went to KY, so I made some phone calls and found it to be specious and through the letters out. I never heard another word.

    In Texas, it is the same, appraisal district appraises business-use vehicles. No escape.
