I know I'm opening a can of worms here and there's other threads about split shifts with a lot of great info but just confused on one part and not sure if what I found is correct and don't want to screw myself on this current load because of it.
Doing a split shift with a fresh 14 this morning. I stopped with 2 hours of drive time left. I know putting it into sleeper and keeping it there for the 8 straight hours pauses it and I'll have that 2 hours left of drive time left plus what I had left on my 14. So I'll make the receiver on time late tonight.
But my question is, what do I gain following my 2 hour break after that?
I'm assuming it's 9 hours of drive time since the 2 hours between the 8 sleeper and 2 hr break. Or am I thinking wrong?

However long it takes you to drive to the receiver is what will be subtracted from your 11 hour clock after sitting for two hours. Your 14 will have all on-duty/drive time and any off-duty time plus the two hour break subtracted.

And if the reciever takes 2 hrs to unload, you got the break in.

He'll get back 11 hours minus whatever time he drove to the receiver. It's as if your 11 and 14 hour reset as soon as you come out of the sleeper berth until you sit for two hours.Last edited: Nov 10, 2017

Drove 5:30 back to p/u next load. Have 5:18 left driving, should i take 8 hrs off then goto receiver and do my last 2? And what hours will i regain?

If you take an 8 then drive to receiver you will have 11 minus whatever it took you to get to receiver if you take the two hour break there. Say you drove one hour to receiver, took a two hour break while getting loaded you would have 10 hours of drive time left with 11 hours of available work time.
