Just wondering which of these myriad of accessories are worth getting. I see coolers, fridges, ovens, heating blankets, heaters, coffee pots, ect, ect Hate to waste my money if it is all hype...
    thanks, Bill

I don't know first hand, but I've been reading reviews on products at Cabela's and whatnot. Seems the things that need to get really hot don't review so well. Coffee takes an hour for 2 cups etc...

The only one I've heard good about is the blanket. I have a small 110 volt 700 watt microwave and it takes twice as long to cook something as is reccomended on the package. As PharmPhail said I'm sure 12 volt would be way slower.

I dont know about all of them but my hubby uses a crockpot thats 12volt and it works very well...got it at a truck stop and makes heating up home cooked meals easy! Just drop it in drive for a couple of hours and dinner is done.

i love my 12 volt blanket i got at the j a few years ago. and just got a black and decker cooler/heater. just use it as a cooler and works great. it has low voltage cut off that dosnt work too good. i left it on and after 3 days the battery's were to low to start the truck.

For the most part, 12 volt appliances, at least the ones that heat up, are a rip off. That crock pot for example, I've never had one last more than a few months. They make the sauce pans, the frying pans, it doesn't matter, in six months you'll be tossing it away. The copper wires inside these appliances turn hard and brittle after you heat them up so many times, and eventually it will break. If you want a crock pot, get a regular one at Walmart for ten bucks and plug it into an inverter.
