Thanks Cyber , I just e-mailed the reporter that wrote that article and told him to do some real research on the trucking industry and do a followup article on what the real job potential for graduates is .

These guys having to take such a step down in pay..Oooch.They need to think hard about the glue that's going to hold them through to become a Professional driver..Cause taking and sticking to it for the money is not going to last, "when its half of what you used to making"..I'm all for people wanting and needing to drive but just needing money? I dont think it's enough to see you through the crap...only desire's going to see ya through the real test's...

These students need to realize why recruiters need to keep hiring . It's not because they are adding trucks . All fleets are downsizing . They keep hiring because drivers keep quitting . Think about that .

LMAO.... I saw that :biggrin_255: BTW, I had 2 rib eyes yesterday :D
Cooked on my own grill. On my own porch :D

We bought a new deep freeze this past week. Putting a side of beef and pork in it, this week. I ain't going hungry ;)

I wish somebody would give me $320 a week for being off. I would never go back to work.

These guys (many of them) are wasting their time and money. We all know that. The insurance is taking it's toll on companies now.

My current job requires 3 years experience, no more than 1 ticket in the past 3, no more than 1 accident in the past 5. ZERO tolerance for felons.

And they used to hire students.

What did they do? Grandfather in all you cattle and pig rustlers?:biggrin_25525:
I had a mesquite ribeye myself last night. Baked sweet potato w/butter & pecans on it. Neighbor brought over a great salad. Crud! Now I made myself hungry.:biggrin_2552:

Ya'll better be careful, talkin' like that. People will think truckers make the big bucks... and everyone will be clamorin' for a driving job.

Oh, wait! They're doin' that already... :biggrin_25523:

Well, if you consider the length of time I've been off work, almost 2 months....without pay.:biggrin_2554: They would think we're all rich :yes2557:

I do have a job now though...unlike these guys coming out of school. And it's going to be a lot longer for some of them.

Watch what happens to these industries that are down now, when all the P/T truck drivers try to go back to their old non-driving jobs. Only to find out it now pays 50% less, than when they left.
