leasin older truck

    am i gonna have problems leasing older truck, its all i could afford for my first truck but it is a good one.93 pete-3406e cat-super ten. all been redone bought it for ten thousand.

    good luck with that...guess your going to get your own authority too...not many companies will lease on a truck older than 5 to 6 years old...much less one 16 years old... but I know landstar will...

    thanx man,yeah i know its old but its better truck than a 08 daycab pete that i drove,too many probs with regen system,that truck was always in the shop!!and my truck pulls way better too. it will pull that 08 faster than it would run!!lol

    it's not that hard. lots of companies don't care. less and less every day now since people are keeping there trucks now since nobody can afford to buy new.
    allot of it depends what you want to do.
    Landstar, schneider, fikes (flatbed) are a few of the bigger ones. personally I'd find a smaller company.
    Lots of money in the oilfields here in TX. ACME and ACE run allot of that stuff. it's a little rougher on trucks so allot of those guys run older equipment. my only problem with poilfield work is being on call.
    there is allot of tanker work in TX. many of them want new trucks but there is a good many who don't care either. I'll try to find my list of them for ya.

    and of course there is always containers but it's junk work pulling junk chassies and not much money

    most companys only want yo to have a newer truck so you are in debt and will run your butt off and take crappy loads because you have to

    Congrats on your pete! Sounds like u got a good deal! U should be able to find work for it ! Right now there is no work. So just do like the rest an hang for as long as u can.
