5EK blocks are weak...........they will crack at the number 5 main journal on the passenger side above the oil galley plug.

I wouldn't build one and put 59's in it.

Think that turbo is a bit small, how much power are you chasing?

Thanks for re-enforcing my feelings on the turbo. Re-thinking the ##59's also, actually re-thinking the whole 5EK thingy. Love to find a 1MM take-out somewhere,:confused1:

    5DS is the 15.8 L direct swap for a 14.6 L E model. 1MM is a 70 pin ECM

Either would be great find, be a LOT of solder gun work on the 1MM though <G>. Truck is used in od loads, RTX15710C, AT1202, 3.90 46K rears, Lopro 24.5's

The 1mm would still be a drop in, Cat sells a 40 to 70 pin adaptor, just plug in and go.

If you were really serious about a 1MM,I have one,it won't be cheap and you would have to take all the parts I have bought for it.

    9 Axle Thanks this.

I would also look at putting a tranny in there, that 10 spd is not a great choice for anything if you are going to build a big motor

Have a 4560 Allison in mind. Lot less shock load on the rest of the drive train.
