Hello everyone first time posting,
Here is the situation, I have a 1997 model Volvo with m11 celect plus that's on it's last leg, I have a 2010 Pete that is totaled with ism engine, can I stick the ism in the Volvo it's a very low mileage engine, and what would be involved, I know the ecm would have to be reprogram, I would like to use m11 turbo and manifold if possible to get rid of egr has anyone ever tried this?
Cummins help switch m11 celect plus with ISM?

You'd be better off fixing the M11 IMO. The ISM is pretty rare engine. I just in framed one and parts was a nightmare from start to finish. Don't waste your time with the swap for this reason alone. Never mind all the other headaches that will come to light with mismatched engines and from a completely different chassis too.

Ok mobilerepareboise I gotcha now lol, thanks for the info, the only reason I'm considering it is the old Volvo is just a yard truck not really worth rebuilding, and we had the ism just laying around collecting dust, we were just gonna see if it was possible instead of junking it maybe we could get some use out of both, more or less a project, what else would have to be altered as far as sensors and all that good stuff, any info would be appreciated

Different generation of electronics and the ISM is a dpf engine with egr. Not really the same engine at all.
