Definitely do it before you get your cdl and no way to pay for it.

Central Transport is pretty good, you might have to have 3months but they are decent, I started when I had six months overnight running hub to hub was paid $89 for a 3hr drive from Syracuse to Albany then got 2 hours dock pay at $25 an hr all forklift work then $89 to run back to Syracuse from Albany then another 2 hours dock time $25 an hr

Submit a job application or simply ask for a pre-hire letter. You'll still have to submit a job application though, to get the pre-hire letter.

Some companies offer them but some don’t. If you can get in touch with a recruiter at the company you’re applying to tell them that you’re about to go to driving school and would like a pre hire letter. If they don’t offer a pre hire explain your ticket and anything else that’s in your background. I believe most companies go back 5 years on tickets and possibly 10 years for a dui. Don’t let this discourage you’ll find something.

    Sounds good
Currently have apps in at a few ltls from this summer. Some have denied and others are still "under consideration". I will do the things mentioned in this post and apply to all companies mentioned here and go from there.

I know you said that OTR isn’t an option but if nothing else works out you could look at Schneider. They have a regional ltl position that gets you home a couple of days a week and weekends from what their website states. I believe they can also help you receive your cdl.

Try the beer companies they are the bottom feeders in pay around here at least but you can get experience till that ticket falls off your record

As soon as the new contract goes through, we will have a revamped dock-to-CDL driver program. No-one is opposing this aspect of the new contract----only areas that involve money (this is a whole 'nother topic for another thread.......) UPSF.

    2) Also, apparently we do hire drivers with less than 1yr experience..........or no experience (?) May depend on the terminal? Met one recently.
