Anyone know of any companies that are hiring inexperienced drivers (without a CDL) and training them? I was a scheduled to go to training w/Schneider in late December but was called off due to the economy when they stopped their training program. I live in Charleston, SC. Thanks.

I just went through the same hunt and the companies I found were Watkins Shepard, Millis, FFE, Conway, Pam, USA, CR England, Swift, Werner, Pam, USA, Prime and Roehl. I may have forgot one or two but maybe that will get ya started. Good luck!:biggrin_25526:

In my opinion from all the companies I talked to Watkins Shepard seemed to be the best as far as their training program and the folks there are great about answering any stupid questions I had. LOL But they require a lot of out of pocket expenses that I just can't afford at this time so I am starting Driver Solutions school in Newport Arkansas on March 9. They recruit for PAM and USA so I decided on PAM simply because they have automatics and they can get me through the house often. The key to finding the right company for you is research, research and then more research. I've been at this for 6 months trying to find the best one for me.:biggrin_2554:
