it was very well done.everything she said was true. I worked there before she got there but Im sure its worse now without Jim around to babysit. The company doesnt purposely try to screw anybody. Its just that nobody pays much attention in the office about paying anybody correctly so it always gets screwed up. That isnt going to change when you have the same people doing it that are just putting in their time. The company is always lost money every year so to them whats the difference how much they lose. no incentive to operate more efficiently. People like Pat work very hard to get loads and good paying loads so drivers dont sit but nobody else there cares. I dont know why Mike S. doesnt just blow it up and start over. nobody in NEMF cares what goes on there and Bellino is out of touch .

NJKATWOMAN You hit it on the head and gave video to support it! I posted this thread originaly and this jlkklj777 keeps defending these Eastern Freightways scumbags, I still say he is in the office or related to someone, because everyone I have ever talked to who has worked for Eastern Freightways always say the same thing, low pay, crap trucks, poor maitenance, and the office/dispatch treated them like garbage! Bottom line Eastern is a dirtbag garbage company and you are far better off away from them! Congaratulations on getting away and it will get better finding a job as Obama gets things straightened out, its tough right now but it will get better!
NJKatwoman Thanks this. -
Nice video response. Wow, Eastern trucks don't have any storage cabinets? That would suck. I simply could not deal with that. All my stuff is stored away and I can pull over and jump back in the bed at any time without having to move stuff around. I also make use of the upper bunk to store stuff, but it doesn't look like Eastern trucks have that either.
Do they expect you to just live out of a backpack? I could understand if you were home every other night. But for OTR, that is simply unacceptable. I couldn't fit half of my stuff into one of those trucks.NJKatwoman Thanks this. -
You are wrong twice. JLKK is one of the few professional drivers that Eastern ever had. The rest are low-life dirtbags that couldnt drive 2500 miles a week if you had all the loads in the world. Also if you think Obama is going straighten things out, youre dreaming. He will put this country back into the stone ages. We will all have to live in tractors and cardboard boxes.

Many companies utilize small bunk trucks. Walmart, Roadway, UPS, Yellow, etc. etc. etc.
Drivers really should NOT be living in the trucks to begin with. Ideally the drivers would be home most nights and only have to sleep in the truck on occasion.
Regrettably that is not how Eastern currently operates. I used to be able to swing by the house as a solo driver and spend the night once in a while but since the change in the HOS I hardly ever get that chance anymore.
It is becoming pretty apparent to me that my experience and treatment here at Eastern is not the norm. Especially in the face of so many disgruntled drivers not only on line but the ones I have been meeting in person lately.
I do not know if this is because I already have built up a rapport with the office staff or not. I have always done the best job I can for whomever I was working for.
I truly hope things turn around here at Eastern. I know without a group of dedicated, hard working drivers, willing to step up and take care of the customers needs we will not have any customers left. I am doing my part to pick up and deliver the loads on time whenever possible.
I know I have no desire to have to start all over at a new company (especially in this economy). -
If all the drivers would just do the job like you instead of ######## about the load or the miles or everything else wrong, Eastern would have more business because customers would be more satisfied with the effort. If you sign on to do a job ,do it right or get out.

You sign on to a job you should do it. But when you've had nothing but smoke blown up your butt how are you supposed to have that drive or loyalty. Look, the bottom line is; not just Eastern, but all trucking companies tell you all the great miles you can expect along so many other great things and they don't deliver a thing! You work long hours for short pay, that's the industry it is what it is and it's getting worse; that's why I got out.
No disrespect intended to you freightgod54 or anyone else out there. Just giving my insight and I also agree with freightgod54, who ever is so disgruntled with the industry get out.
Be safe out there. -
This is true. If you get home on a regular basis it's not that big of deal. I didn't know how Eastern operates. But if you're out 2-3 weeks at a time, I think bigger cabs would be necessary for most drivers. Sure I, and most people could do it, but why, when you could be much more comfortable somewhere else.
Unfortunately, in this economy, you can't just get up and go somewhere else so easily. So you just grin and bear it until you can get something else. I agree complaining doesn't do much good. But that's what this section of the forum is for, I think. -
I know you pretty well. We spoke many times at Eastern. They do lie to people to get them to come onboard and they dont have miles to spread around except to their pets. I respect you for the job you tried to do and every other driver who lives in a cab for little reward. People do make a lot of difference. Unfortunately, MOST,not all ,of the management people there could care less about the drivers. Mike S should close it down and start from scratch, without all the politics.

I'm not sure who you are but if you say we spoke many times at eastern I'm sure we did.
Give me a clue.
