If you are making 950 net each week, that is not bad at all. Hang on to it. 620 every two weeks is starvation wages.
I remember running like hell to get almost a thousand weekly on .34 a mile.
I remember back in the 80's my milk runs paid exactly 745 net and change every two weeks. Then again money had good value in those days. Only needed 30 dollars in gas each month for the commute. Instead of say 260 each month for ADESA in little Rock, which essentially says ADESA cannot or will not pay me that much net each month part time. That is why I don't crew boss with them right now with the CDL truck sale crew.
I could go full time formally 40 hours a week there and increase my pay to 440 a week (Our Midterms elections will raise minimum wage from 8.25 to 11.00 a hour) however full time commuting in gasoline then would cost me roughly 320 in gasoline. Which will wipe out a week. Taxes will wipe out almost 10 days worth leaving me with a 500+ net which isnt much for a month's work.
This tax cut and economic BS and haw haw sure is looking more like a big pile of hooey. Thank god that pay increase is coming after the midterms get done going to 11 basic rate for all. -
I am always reading into the industry of professional drivers. You and all of the veterans of the trucking field are the blue collard workers of the road. You and them should always have more voice then what you currently have.
You know what needs to happen to fix the current state of the profession and that is why I respect and always ask for insight from the OT’s. -
good luck, you can do it.x1Heavy and Hernandez19 Thank this.
