Yeah had to be ... glad I was not on that call ... I freaked out when I heard and saw it on our local news ... Crow had delivered there several times ... it is a little more than a hour away from us ...

That is a rare article. It states: ...when her car pulled into the path of a tractor-trailer rig... Normally the reporters would report it as the truck hitting her.

I thought so too ... even when it was on the local news the reports said the same thing ... that she had pulled out in front of the Freightliner ... either way it is sad ...

I was surprised at the wording too, i hate finger pointing when there's been a fatality, and now that driver has to live with the fact also. I can just imagine that some ambulance chaser is probably going to go after the trucker because of his age, slowed reactions or some other b.s. like that. I hope it doesn't happen but the way the country has become it wouldn't surprise me.

I am afraid that age is going to play in the investigation of the Freightliner driver ...

Yeah I think you are right unfortunately. But I also noticed that her age was very close to his also both in their 70's I believe. I know there are a lot of GOOD drivers over the age of 70 but I also know some in the 60's that should have their license pulled. And don't even get me started on the younger generation. This is just a tragic accident that could happen to anyone at any age.

The elderly woman was 72 ... yeah do not get me started on the younger generation and driving ... since I have known Crow (3years) I have learned to be more careful around truck drivers and more aware of what is going on when a big rig is on the road ... and also motorcycles .... since my brother in laws accident almost 2 years ago ... I pay more attention

I'd put money on it... About 5 years ago my sister in law was hit and killed by a 80+ year old lady in a town car... She was walking to her car for her lunch and the lady hit her so hard it through her 30 feet into the side of a Little Debbie truck killing her instantly.
My brother received a quick settlement from her insurance company as it turns out the lady mistook the the gas for the brake... So anyways the lady and her family tried suing my brother for the insurance claim... The case went no where!

There is no doubt in my mind that this ladies family will try to sue... It's a sick world!
