I totally agree with you. It is super hard work. I did it with McLane some years back. I was young then. Now I can’t do that stuff now. Too old lol. But for someone young or for someone who wants to stay in shape or get in shape more power to them. But you are absolutely right it is hard work. Takes the right kind of person to do that job.

I drove short haul for CT. I started out delivering drywall then I got on with the Lowe’s Dedicated account that they have in my area. I really enjoyed it and was home everyday. I believe they have all automatic transmissions now. I think you’ll like it just get some experience and more doors will open.
Hernandez19 Thanks this. -
Fastenal would be a rout I would love to take. I researched them and they needed some experience.
-
You don’t need experience for Fastenal. I believe there will be a posting for a job but you will be on the road by the then.Hernandez19 Thanks this.

What kind of routes do they have. I don’t believe in job hopping but there always has to be a backup.

Hey, I'm also in Central Florida (Ocala), and I have done lots of research on companies. What kind of home time are you needing or is money more important? I can give you info I have found if you want..

The routes are not bad. I’m just not into the route thing anymore. That’s for the young guys lol. Schedule is Wed-Fri. Off Sat Work Sun Off Mon-Tues. not bad. average route is about 300 Miles. Just deliver to the Fastenal stores pick up backhuals and call it a day. Some people complain but you complain at every job. I agree with you. I don’t believe in job hopping either but always have a back up plan. You never know when life will hit you.

I currently live in Winter Haven. Trying to get home on the Weekend. Insurance for the family is top for me. Wife and I both have VA medical but I would rather be able to provide us with another type of medical coverage as well as my son.

That’s is a good schedule. I wish I would have gotten into the industry as soon as I got out of the Army but it didn’t happen that way. No I’m trying to play catch up to land a good industry job.Redtwin Thanks this.
